Fineman PR just released its 15th annual top 10 PR blunders list. http://www.prsa.org/SearchResults/view/8469/105/Fineman_PR_releases_15th_annual_Top_10_PR_Blunders
I don’t think anything this year compares to the “top gaffe” years ago.
Seems the District of Columbia Housing Authority sent out a news release announcing a drug bust, the night before the raid. Naturally, as the Wall Street Journal put it: “The bust was a bust, as dealers heard about it on the radio and disappeared.”
This was not a “failure to communicate.” It was definitely a failure of “over-communication.”
See the “Fun with English” section on my website (www.CommunicationsPlus.net) for more interesting tidbits.
